Coordinating Trip to Guatemala

Published Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Dr. Campoverde will travel to Guatemala on February, 2008 to meet with the coordinators of the Presbyterian Congregation of Westfield, New Jersey, Pastor Christina McCormick, Dr Martha Quesada Kieczykowski, and Engineer Anthony Cerino.  They will meet with the community people of El Triunfo to identify the need for construction of kitchens, latrines, etc. for some families in El Triunfo.  One hundred volunteers from the Presbyterian Congregation will, once more travel to El Triunfo in  June, 2008 to work with the people in building their homes. As some of you may remember, during the summer of 2007, 105 volunteers went to El Triunfo and helped nineteen families to build their houses.  The experience was very gratifying for both, the volunteers as well as for the people of El Triunfo.  The Guatemalan Project is most grateful to the Congregation for giving us the privilege of their assistance and support.  In doing this second trip, the coordinators of the Presbyterian Congregation show the trust that they have in our work and in the way that we do things in the Guatemalan Project.  The group and the community will also discuss the possibility of building a Day Care Center.I will report on the outcome of this trip.As always, you can contact me at guatemalanproject@netzero.net
