WISH LIST NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE GUATEMALAN PROJECT MISSION.

Most important needs at present:

1. The Role of Youth in Building Their Own Sustainable Future: This project engages children in working for the gift they wish to have.  Child work in the community, learn a trade, and realize their personal responsibility to building their own community.  You can help. 
2. Ecological farming: we recently purchased a 96-blocks farm to enable the 203 families of El Triunfo and their nearby neighbors to have a place where they can cultivate corn, beans, bananas, etc.  We are in desperate need of guidance to do ecological farming.  We also need PVC piping, water pumps, tools and any farm equipment that will promote a more efficient and ecologically sound farming.  Please help, contact us at guatemalanproject@netzero.net
3. We need a large donation to cover the cost of shipping to Guatemala.  The cost for shipping large containers has become out of reach. We will begin to send small 24x24 inch boxes which cost $170.00 each.
4. Volunteer Coordinator:  We need a person with knowledge of Spanish, a great heart, wonderful communication skills, and a great sense of fairness to act as coordinator por the project in Guatemala. 
5. We need a compressor for our dental clinic.  
6. We need all types of medical equipment and supplies including stethoscopes, surgical gloves, medicines, oxigen, wheel chairs, etc.
7. We need to build a playground for the children.  Approximate cost $6,000.00.
8. We need sponsors to provide children with daily lunches , vitamins, school supplies, gifts-shoes, clothing, etc. 
9. There are over 60 youngsters in el Triunfo (ages 14-18). Most of these do not attend school. These youngsters expressed their desire to learn a skill.  We need to build a vocational training school that will enable the youngsters to learn carpentry, bricklayer skills, electricity, small appliances repair, mechanics, sewing, baking, and some basic business administration. Women want to learn how to sew. Therefore, the sewing machines and sewing materials are needed.  Besides training equipment, the following is also needed at the training center: tables, chairs, closets, shelves, TV with VCR for instructional presentations, refrigirators, fans, storage boxes, supplies i.e., pencils, papers, rulers, measuring tapes, etc.  These types of skills will open opportunities for employment to many people in El Triunfo.  The Municipality of Gualan had already donated two blocks of land for the vocational center.  The approximate cost to build a large four-room vocational center is $30,000.00. 
10. We need to build a community center where the people could go and celebrate their lives.  Community meetings, civic events, as well as social gatherings could take place at the community center.  The center should be equipment with some entertainment equipment, i.e., TV, VCR,  ping pong table, and a kitchen.  The center could also be used by health workers who could come from the capital of the province to provide educational workshops for the community.  The approximate cost to build a commnity center is $15,000.00.
11.  We need the services of a certified public accountant to review our financial records.
12. We need sponsors for our webpage.  The cost of having it is $100.00 per year.
13. Soccer shoes and balls.  We urge you to collect all used soccer shoes that your children or their friends are no longer using at the soccer league.  Please ship them to us.  Our children desperately need them.
14. We also need eye glasses, hearing aids, both, for children and for the elderly   glucometers and the supplies needed to monitor the sugar level of diabetics, aspirins, Tylenol, band aids, gauze, Benadryl, antibiotics for local wounds, alcohol; medicines for constipation, diarrhea, stomach ulcers, stomach irritations, eye infections, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dental floss, etc.
